ATLANTA, Ga. (April 4, 2023) – The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) has announced its track and field weekly honors, released by the league office on Tuesday.
Ed Gilbert (Albany State) and Nathalia Rowe (Albany State) were named this week’s men and women Track Athletes of the Week, alongside Sundiata Washington (Tuskegee) and Amarianna Lofton (Central State) who collected this week’s men and women Field Athletes of the Week honor.
Women’s Track and Field
Track Performer of the Week – Nathalia Rowe, Albany State
Rowe had an outstanding performance last week at the University of West Georgia Legends Track and Field Invitational. The sophomore won the 400 Meters with a time of 57.23 and won the 400 Hurdles with a time of 1:03.63.
Field Performer of the Week – Amarianna Lofton, Central State
Central State freshman Amarianna Lofton recorded a second-place mark of 5.49 meters (18′ 0.25″) in the long jump and a fourth-place finish in the high jump with a leap of 1.65 meters (5′ 5′) at the Western Kentucky Hilltopper Relays.
Men’s Track and Field
Track Performer of the Week – Ed Gilbert, Albany State
Gilbert, of Albany State won the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.10 last weekend at the University of West Georgia Legends Track and Field Invitational.
Field Performer of the Week – Sundiata Washington, Tuskegee
At the University of Alabama Birmingham Spring Invite, Washington won the high jump with a jump of 2.00 meters.
